Originally a Gothic water fortress, later Renaissance chateau, from which remain only a memory. Chateau Zábřeh in the center of Ostrava came back on the list of cultural monument one year ago as a four star historic hotel with brewery.

First written mention about chateau Zábřeh comes from year 1529. Since that time chateau had passed through the ownership of over 20 moravien aristocratic families and at the end of past century ended up as registered office for building company. After 1989 for many years was chateau unsuccessfully offered for sale by a real estate, till 3 years ago when the property was bought by Mr. Petr Hradil and Mr. Ercih Bergmann. Return life and design of early Baroque to this property were able to return Mr. Petr Hradil with his wife Daniela.
The first floor of the chateau offers nine historic rooms, equipped with antique furniture, and half-timbered attic other nine simpler rooms - equipped with stylish furniture. At the original stone reception upon arriving, they will ask you, where would you like to stay... Whether in the hunting room, which is dominated by a huge elk preparation, complete with inlaid Baroque furniture, or in the Renaissance room, where first thing after waking up you will see canopy and then the oldest original ceiling in the chateau. And maybe it would be in suite Africa, inspired by journeys to exotic countries of the nobility, where except the stuffed buffalo and antelope you will find the largest stone fireplace in the chateau and the monumental arches bathroom with a bathtub in the middle of the room. The other available rooms are Mater´s, Lady´s, Traveller´s, Magic room, Chaplain´s and Tower room with the view at the Zábhřeh´s church.
Renaissance vaulted ceilings gives the atmosphere to stylish restaurant with fireplace. Knights´ hall decorated with coats of arms of all former owners and holders of the Chateau Zábřeh serves weddings or other gatherings and in the malt´s kiln of brewery you will find wine cellar with wine collection room in these days.. Courtyard is closing brewery extension and beer hall. Those can´t be missed on the place with tradition of brewing beer since 1574. To satisfied the remaining senses owners are planning to open small beer spa next year.
